2011 IOLI Convention in Bethesda Maryland - Threads of Historuy

The Chesapeake Region Lace Guild and the International Old Lacers, Inc,. Invite you to join them at the 58th Annual IOLI Lace Convention July 31 to August 6, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, in Bethesda, Maryland.

 

Wonderful classes in Bobbin Lace, Tatting, Knitted Lace, Needle Lace and more, will be taught. 

 

This convention was attended by Two members of the Walla Walla Lacy Lacers guild.  We received our charter on the last night of the convention.

Fort Walla Walla - Women in History

August is important to women’s history as August 18 is the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution, guaranteeing American women the right to vote. 2011 marks the 91st year of national suffrage, as well as the 101st year of Washington state voting rights for women. 
The celebration will feature regional dignitaries speaking about changing women's roles over the past century. Demonstrations in the pioneer settlement may include spinning, quilting and other traditional women's arts of the 19th century. 

The Walla Walla Lacy Lacer's demonstrated Knitting, Tatting and Bobbin Lace Making.

Lace Demonstration and Display 7/16 The Union Bulletin

9 am - 3 pm; Pioneer United Methodist Church, corner of Poplar & S. Colville Street, Walla Walla.
Members of the Walla Walla Lacy Lacers and guest lace makers will demonstrate different types of lace making including bobbin lace, knitted lace crocheted lace and tatted lace. A variety of completed lace items will be on display. Admission is free. An antique sale will be held in the basement of the church at the same time.
